The Pink Pony, Book I of the Burr Lafayette Mystery Series (Revised)
South Campus | Thursday, May 1 • 1pm
Instructor: Charles Cutter • Literature and Local History
This unique class merges literary fiction with local historical settings in our Michigan communities. Taking place on Mackinac Island, The Pink Pony features protagonist Burr Lafayette, recently divorced and the deposed head of the litigation department of a major Detroit law firm. He is recruited to defend Murdo Halverson, a wealthy manufacturer from Grosse Pointe. The prosecutor has damning evidence and witnesses that make his client look guilty. Unless Burr can find a suspect, Murdo is going to be convicted of first-degree murder. This popular class offers a revised version of that given in fall 2024.

The Pink Pony, the first book in the series, recently won first prize in the Global Book Awards.
